Documentum Web Stress Testing with JMeter
With the help of the Apache JMeter software, Solfit developed a set of comprehensive tests to stress a Documentum application through its Webtop portal.Our Stress test solution is composed of six basic JMeter test units. Each test unit is configurable to be run independently. To simulate different real application load they are combined to be run concurrently in a random order. Multiple test users(Inline) are created before running the test to allow it to be run in multi-user mode. To increase the test load, each user may run multiple threads.
Each of these tests has an assertion mechanism that will detect eventual failures while testing and loading the system. A final assertion test report is generated at the end of the tests; the performance is showed while running the tests.
These tests cover the following elementary user action on the Webtop application:
- Folder creation
- Document creation
- Document rendition
- Document search
- Document versioning
- Web navigation
The following aspects are covered using these stress tests concurrently:
- Scalable system load
- Random system load
- Heavy system load
The experience acquired developing the tests on Webtop allows us to provide solutions adapted to any custom WDK based applications.
